People need to realize that there are days when you’re not in the mood to talk or interact with anyone.

Anonymous Asked: If you don't mind me asking, how much does therapy cost?

I don’t mind! It really will depend on a few things: if you have insurance, what kind of insurance you have and if you’ve met a deductible (if you haven’t, you may pay more) and the therapist you seek out. It’s good to call around to different offices to find one that you’re comfortable paying for. My therapy sessions are $300 per session but my insurance covers 90% of the costs.

Ohhh! I hope everything went okay!

fangirlwithoutshame it went as well as it could have gone to be honest. It’s just a very nerve wracking and long process to begin. I know this sort of thing is going to take a long time, and i’ll live with my issues for the rest of my life but I am finally seeking the help I need. I have finally taken the first step and pushed myself out of my comfort zone. It’s a long road that i’m on but at least i’ve finally accepted the help being offered to me. Thank you darling! <3

We teach girls to shrink themselves, to make themselves smaller. We say to girls, ‘You can have ambition, but not too much. You should aim to be successful, but not too successful. Otherwise you will threaten the man.’ Because I am female, I am expected to aspire to marriage. I am expected to make my life choices always keeping in mind that marriage is the most important. Now marriage can be a source of joy and love and mutual support. But why do we teach girls to aspire to marriage and we don’t teach boys the same? We raise girls to see each other as competitors – not for jobs or for accomplishments, which I think can be a good thing, but for the attention of men. We teach girls that they cannot be sexual beings in the way that boys are.

I’m sitting in the waiting room waiting to go into therapy for the first time and I feel like I’m going to throw up. I just want to get today over with so the initial nerves will go away..
